As part of my master's degree work, I was prompted with creating a news media campaign about any topic. Naturally I gravitated to arts education. These stories dive into the positive experiences and outcomes students reap as participants of art education. They also highlight how performance art instills confidence and drive in today's youth amid a global pandemic. Download the story to read!

Arts Education Funding at West Point High School

The West Point High School Theatre department is a self-funded program. It relies on outside resources to function, and sometimes that’s not quite so easy. Reporter Jessica Patterson shows you how creative the school is in providing the arts.

Arts Education Impact at Cullman High School

Cullman High School’s theatre production of Bright Star took place after months of postponing due to COVID-19. The students felt discouraged without practice and socialization. Reporter Jessica Patterson will take you behind the scenes to show how getting back on stage positively impacts students.

Cullman High School students perform in this auditorium. The school was rebuilt in 2010. Additions included an auditorium and new art resources.
